| Ghost & Lola unique jewellery is the creation of Byron Based artist/designer Kim McClintock, with degrees in Visual Arts and Museum Studies, several years exhibiting as an artist around Sydney, a career in museums in collection & exhibitions, Kim’s move to Jewellery design was a natural progression.
Since its launch in 2006 during Milan Fashion Week , Ghost & Lola jewellery has developed a quietly growing and loyal clientele in Australia whilst enjoying phenomenal success internationally - the range now stocked in high-end boutiques and department stores in more than 15 countries.
The Ghost & Lola label finds a unique niche in the traditional market place of mass production by offering glamorous and exquisitely detailed one-off creations and limited edition seasonal collections merging a wealth of objects from many places, cultures and eras, vintage and contemporary.
The Ghost & Lola aesthetic was born of Kim's love of the exotic and many years of sourcing beautiful & desirable vintage curios from all over the world and across eras and the realisation of an idea to reclaim and re-imagine these elements in a contemporary context.
Eclectic, eccentric and elaborate, the Ghost & Lola collections draw inspiration from a love of timeless design, art, science and literature, the glamorous illusionary charm of the past and the lightness & darkness of nature & myth. The result is a series of directional pieces, non-conformist in vision, glamourous, feminine and with a distinct contemporary edge, making a strong visual statement whether worn day or evening.
As Oscar Wilde said, "Nothing succeeds like excess." |
